6th Day of Prayer

Welcome to our 6th day of prayer as the people of Faith Lutheran Church. Our prayer theme for today is “The Ministries of Our Congregation, Their Leaders and Participants.”

Our reading for today is from Ephesians 4, verses 11-13:

The gifts he gave were that some would be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until all of us come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ.

Let’s pray together.

Offer a prayer thanking God for the church, which is always Christ’s church, and for our congregation. (PAUSE)

Thank God for those ministries of our congregation which have most profoundly influenced your life. (PAUSE)

Thank God for those who lead and participate in these ministries, being especially thankful for their willingness to give generously of their time and talents. (PAUSE)

Ask God to strengthen the ministries of our congregation, that might ever more effectively proclaim God’s love to our members, our community, and our world. (PAUSE)

Amen. May God bless you and keep you in God’s grace.

May each of us in light of our specific talents share them in the ministry of our congregations. We give thanks for our faith leaders who give generously of their time and talents. We ask God to strengthen us in proclaiming and showing our love to all we meet. Amen
